Brenda Bautsch Dickhoner
Brenda Bautsch Dickhoner has spent over a decade working in education policy at the national and state level. As an Education Fellow at the Common Sense Institute, she has authored research on a variety of topics, including education finance and charter schools. Previously, at the Colorado Department of Education, Brenda developed and implemented policies to ensure all students have access to a high-quality education. Brenda also served as an expert for the Colorado Department of Higher Education on research and policy related to college access and success. She began her career at the National Conference of State Legislatures where she advised state legislators in numerous states on education policy. Brenda earned a Ph.D. in Public Policy at the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs and studied political science as an undergraduate at Duke University. She and her husband live in Denver with their two young boys.
