Willyn Webb
Hi! I’m Willyn Webb (she/her) and I have been with CSI since August, 2021. As CSI’s Early Learning and School Support Coordinator, it’s important to me to empower our schools in providing excellence for our youngest learners. As research indicates, attending a quality preschool, being ready to learn by kindergarten, and learning to read by the end of 3rd grade are indicators of enjoyment of learning, graduation, and life success.
I provide a monthly newsletter and podcast, “Ready, Set, READ” sharing information, grants, and resources for our schools, a monthly topic based reading interventionist PLC, a Preschool bi-weekly cohort, and state mandated data collections for Kindergarten School Readiness and the Colorado READ Act. During this exciting time in our state, I am involved in the Universal Preschool transition planning and advocating for CSI charter school preschools, equity, and choice.
Additionally, I lead the CSI Teacher and Special Service Providers Induction program, supporting schools in providing the means for staff to convert their initial teaching license to a professional license. Induction is a key lever in staff success and retention.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts and Education, a master’s degree in school counseling, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and additional coursework to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have had five books published in over 30 years in education. I have been involved in the charter sector since 2016, as a K-12 charter school leader before coming to CSI.
I enjoy working at CSI because I get to experience innovative school models in all areas of Colorado, support dedicated early childhood educators, and be part of a diverse and highly educated and talented team at CSI.
I look forward to building relationships and partnership with everyone involved in the Early Childhood and Literacy areas of education and mentors/inductees professional development.
