CSI is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors. Seven members are appointed by the Governor. Two members are appointed by the Commissioner of Education. The CSI Board is statutorily required to be mission-driven and politically balanced. This ensures steady leadership of the organization and stable oversight of CSI schools. Board members serve terms of three years and no more than six consecutive years.
