Hello! I’m Anastasia Hawkins and I have been with CSI since 2022. As CSI’s Director of Governance, it’s important to me to support the governing boards of our schools as well as the CSI Board of Directors in all aspects of their role as governing bodies. To that end, I develop and enhance new and existing board policies as well as governance supports through online training modules, one-pagers as well as in-person direct support, guidance and training where needed. Further, I partner with my Legal and Policy team to update existing contracts for renewal schools as well as contract amendments for existing schools and new contracts for new schools. I also assist in the response and resolution of school complaints and work with schools to ensure increased organizational capacity. 

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish as well as my Juris Doctor. I have been involved in the charter sector since 2014, working with large charter networks in Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, DC and Nevada before coming to CSI. 

I enjoy coming to work every day at CSI because I have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people that bring new ideas and innovative solutions to our schools daily. The values that most drive me echo those of our mission which is why I was drawn to CSI; fostering high-quality public school choices that deliver rigorous academic content and high academic performance in a safe environment with a heightened focus on schools for at-risk students. 

I most look forward to continuing my work with CSI schools and staff, school boards, the CSI Board of Directors and most importantly the amazing staff we have here at CSI to further our mission.
