Last spring, CSI had an amazing opportunity to partner with Ready Colorado to tell the story of four CSI schools through film.
Earlier this week, the film “A School for Every Kid” was shared with a community of CSI school representatives, education reform partners, and state decisionmakers.
We were honored to have Dr. Katy Anthes, Commissioner of Education, give a keynote highlighting the importance of school choices: “All kids are different. All families are different. We want to make sure that kids have access to something they’re passionate about, excited about – that their school fits their needs.”
Following the film screening was a panel facilitated by League President Dan Schaller. Joining me on the panel were representatives from each of the four CSI schools featured in the video: New Legacy Charter School, New America School – Aurora, Thomas MacLaren School, and Kwiyagat Community Academy. They each shared about the unique reasons why families choose their school, what makes their school unique, and the importance of having access to equitable resources.
While the video couldn’t include every CSI school, I know each and every CSI school has its own unique story to tell – about the many reasons why families choose your school, what makes your school so unique, and the vital importance of funding equity for all public school children.
We welcome your students, parents, and school community members to share their whys with us so we can feature these important stories on our website’s Our Why page and be a continual reminder of the importance of high-quality choices for all.
We also welcome you to share this film and continue to get the word out about why funding equity for CSI schools is so important.
