CoAlt

The Colorado Alternate Assessments (CoAlt) is a standards-based assessment designed specifically for students with significant cognitive disabilities and is meant to provide a picture of student performance to schools, districts, educators, parents and the community. Purpose of CoAlt

This standards-based assessment program is designed specifically for students with significant cognitive disabilities using the elements of universal design. For students who qualify to take alternate assessments, the CoAlt is an indicator of student progress toward the Expanded Benchmarks which are linked to the Colorado Model Content Standards in the content areas of Reading, Writing and Mathematics in grades 3 - 9 and Science in grades 5,8, and 11
           

Who Takes CoAlt

This assessment is designed specifically for students with significant cognitive disabilities (see Alternate Assessment Eligibility Criteria Worksheet).
