Terry Croy LewisTerry Croy Lewis | Executive Director

My name is Terry Croy Lewis and I’m CSI’s Executive Director. Prior to my work here at CSI, I worked at the Colorado League of Charter Schools as the Vice President of School Quality and Support. Additionally, I was a founder of High Point Academy (HPA) which opened in 2006 and I served as the Executive Director/Principal at HPA for 8 years. Before my work at HPA, I helped to develop other charter schools in Colorado as an independent consultant and as a consultant with a national organization focused on the creation of new charter schools. In 1997, I helped found my first charter school, Platte River Academy. In total, I have 20 years of experience in the charter school sector working in urban, suburban and rural communities and I have served in a variety of capacities such as founder, school leader, governing board member, and consultant. Finally, I earned my doctoral degree from the University of Maryland and I’ve taught at several universities across the country. 

Kimberly Caplan
Kimberly Caplan | School Programs Specialist

My name is Kim Caplan and I’m the School Programs Specialist for the Pikes Peak and Western Slope Regions. I support CSI schools in developing and strengthening a variety of programs to improve outcomes for all students. My primary areas of focus are gifted education, preparation for college and career, and teacher/principal induction programs. I joined the CSI Team in August 2015 eager to continue my work to provide high quality educational options for students and families. I’ve held a variety of positions over the past 13 years including teaching middle school science, serving as principal of an alternative high school and managing a division of 18 charter schools in Colorado, Arizona and Ohio. I am currently licensed as a principal and teacher with endorsements in secondary science and gifted education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of Virginia. 

  Sarah ClarkSarah Clark | Data Submissions Coordinator

My name is Sarah Clark. I joined the Charter School Institute in January 2018 as a Data Submissions Coordinator. As part of the Submissions team, I work with CSI schools to complete state and federal data collections - including provision of training, assistance clearing errors, data validation, and adherence to audit requirements. I have over 15 years' experience working for Denver nonprofit organizations - predominantly in client services, data management, reporting, analysis, training and process improvement roles. I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs from Florida State University. I am honored to provide service and support for CSI's portfolio of schools.

Janet Dinnen
 | Director of Data and Communications

My name is Janet Dinnen, and I am CSI’s Director of Data & Communications. I have been with the organization in different capacities, including focuses on assessments, data analysis, state reporting, compliance monitoring, and school development since 2013.  Prior to CSI, I served a variety of roles within the charter sector—I was a secondary teacher and member of the administrative team at a Colorado charter school, and prior to coming to Colorado, I worked in a charter management organization as well as at a charter authorizer.  In my current role, I oversee state and federal reporting and data quality initiatives, the CSI Annual Review of Schools (CARS) accreditation system, and the new school application cycle. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and my Master’s Degree in Measurement, Evaluation, Statistics and Assessment from the University of Chicago. I love being part of the Colorado charter community and getting to witness how charters continually strive to raise the bar in public education, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to serve and support our portfolio of schools.

Julie Eddy
ulie Eddy | Data Manager

My name is Julie Eddy and I was hired in the summer of 2016 to fill the new CSI Data Manager position. I’ve had the good fortune to experience living in different parts of the country, growing up in the Midwest, attending college in the pacific northwest, and pursuing my career interests in Colorado for the past 15 years. I’m looking forward to working with our CSI schools in finding ways to streamline our state and federal data submissions processes, with a focus on maximizing available funding for all CSI schools through more complete and accurate data reporting.   

Ryan Hartung
Ryan Hartung | Data Submissions Coordinator

My name is Ryan Hartung, and I was hired in March 2017 for the Data Submissions Coordinator role.  I am a Colorado native who grew up in Highlands Ranch and attended College at the University of Colorado at Boulder receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science.  Prior to being hired, I have worked with multiple data and database systems in both the environmental and non-profit industries.  I am excited for the opportunity to work with schools and the CSI team in submitting, correcting and maintaining the high quality data necessary for the state and federal data collections.  

Matt Hudson
Matt Hudson | Director of Special Education

My name is Matt Hudson, and I joined CSI during its second year of authorizing schools which was a pivotal time as CSI had just completed its first year opening of 2 schools. In 1985, I first began my career in Education at a College Disability Services Center, a position I held for several years before entering the K-12 setting.  In 1994, I moved to Colorado as a School Psychologist for the Northern Colorado BOCES. In 2000, I moved to Colorado Springs and worked as a Special Education Coordinator/Psychologist and obtained my Educational Administration license in 2005. During my tenure, I have served on several State and District committees and notably was a member of the State Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) as well as an invited guest presenter at several local conferences and universities. I am a Minnesota native, passionate about my work in serving the needs of students with disabilities in charter schools.

Marcie Jackson
Marcie Jackson | Grants Fiscal Coordinator

My name is Marcie Jackson, and I am the Grants Fiscal Coordinator at CSI. I have been with the organization since 2015. I am a Colorado native from Estes Park. I perform functions of grant financial administration for State and Federal grants, categorical funding, and State equalization to include; preparation and timely submission of grant applications and reports to the CDE, development and adjustment of associated budgets and coordination of budgeted funds.  In addition to creating school payments for grants, I process the CSI payments to external vendors and the employee reimbursements.  I received my AAS in Accounting from Front Range and am currently working on my Bachelor's in Accounting at Regis University.  I thoroughly enjoy working with all the wonderful individuals at our schools and the genuinely dedicated staff of CSI. 

Trish Krajniak
Trish Krajniak | Director of Policy and Legal Initiatives 

My name is Trish Krajniak and I am CSI’s Director of Legal and Policy Initiatives. I started working with CSI remotely from my home town of Wauconda, Illinois in June of 2016, and officially moved back to Colorado a month later.  As the Director of Legal and Policy Initiatives, I monitor the organizational performance of CSI schools to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contract provisions and policies, as well as track local and national legal and policy developments in order to better support CSI schools.  I received my Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Culture from University of Colorado – Boulder; J.D. from University of Denver with a focus in Constitutional Rights and Remedies; and an LLM from Loyola University Chicago where I focused on Education Law and Policy.  I believe that quality authorizing is integral to ensuring that families have access to exceptional and equitable public school options, and look forward to continuously improving as a model authorizer.

My name is Julia Linares-Roake, and I joined CSI as the Office    Administrator in May of 2018. In this position, I offer office and logistical support, and serve as a front line for school and general requests. Prior to this role, I worked in a school setting in Lafayette, CO - both as an AmeriCorps member and through the Boulder Valley School District. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Public Policy/Global Poverty & Practice from the University of California, Berkeley, and will receive my Master’s in Education and Human Development – Family Relations and Human Development in Spring of 2020.

Ryan Marks
Ryan Marks | Director of Evaluation and Assessment

My name is Ryan Marks, and I am the Director of Evaluation and Assessment. I have been with the organization since 2014 and I have worked in various roles at CSI. I currently oversee all state assessments, student performance analysis, and academic evaluation, including annual, seasonal and periodic statistical analysis of state and local assessment data. Prior to working at CSI, I was a middle school science teacher in Thailand and Colorado. I received a B.S in Biological Sciences and a M.A in Research Methods and Statistics from the University of Denver and hold my professional teaching license with endorsements in secondary science education, gifted and talented education, special education, and linguistically diverse education. 

Allegra Matus
Allegra Matus | Human Resources and Accounts Payable Manager

My name is Allegra Matus, and I am CSI’s Human Resources and Accounts Payable Manager. I have been with the organization since November 2014, and my primary roles include handling CSI’s internal human resources needs and oversight of our grants fiscal and accounts payable/receivable operations. Additionally, I am here to serve our schools in financial transparency act requirements, human resources related issues (with the support of Mountain State Employers Council), and any payment related questions. I am a Michigan native and I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Michigan State University back in May 2009. I feel very proud to be a part of the CSI team and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and learn with this evolving organization!

Amanda Karger
Amanda Karger | Director of Finance

My name is Amanda Karger and I joined the CSI team in July of 2017 as the Director of Finance. In this role, I oversee accounting, financial planning, procurement, human resources, and financial support activities for schools. I have a background in governmental finance for both local and state government in Colorado. Prior to CSI, I served in various financial management capacities for the Colorado Department of Revenue, Jefferson County Public Schools, and the City of Aurora. I earned my Bachelor’s in Economics and French from Colorado State University. I am a fourth generation native to Colorado, and have a passion for public sector financial advocacy with a focus on long term financial viability. I am honored to serve the students of Colorado and to support and advocate for our portfolio schools. 
Kimberly Caplan Amanda Oberg | Communications Coordinator

My name is Amanda Oberg and I joined the CSI team in October of 2017. As the Communications Coordinator, my main responsibilities include the creation and production of CSI publications and media releases, increasing CSI's social media presence, and developing stronger connections between CSI and the charter schools we oversee. Previously, I was the Events and Logistics Manager for the Colorado League of Charter Schools. I have a Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University Fort Collins in English Literature and Media Studies, as well as a Publishing Certificate from New York University. 

Nick Stachokus
Nick Stachokus | School Programs Specialist

My name is Nick Stachokus and I am a School Programs Specialist for the Denver and Northern metro regions.  I started with CSI in July of 2016 after having worked in charter schools for roughly 7 years in various roles.  I’m fortunate in my current role to support schools with everything from the Colorado Preschool Program to 504 implementation and other things in between.  I’m currently a licensed administrator as well as a licensed teacher in Special Education, K-12 Social Studies, Elementary Education, and Gifted & Talented Education. I’m firm believer in CSI’s mission to provide equitable education opportunities for all students throughout the state.  

Clare Vickland
Clare Vickland | Director of Student Services

My name is Clare Vickland and I joined the CSI team in May of 2016 as the Director of Student Services. I oversee accountability, training, and technical assistance for all state and federal programs, in addition to coordinating the onboarding process for new CSI schools and new leaders to CSI schools. I have a background in Special Education, At-Risk student populations, and school leadership. I earned my Principal’s License from the University of Denver, my Master’s in Education in Risk and Prevention from Harvard University, and my Bachelor’s in Special Education and Early Childhood from Vanderbilt University. Prior to CSI, I coordinated professional development supports, with a focus on special populations, at the Colorado League of Charter Schools, and had a successful tenure in several Colorado charter schools serving K-12 students in a variety of roles.

Cassie Walgren
Cassie Walgren | Controller

My name is Cassie Walgren, and I am CSI’s Controller and I have been employed by CSI for over four years.  Before coming to CSI, I accumulated 19 years of school finance experience working for two Colorado school districts.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Colorado.  I am the person you will contact if you have questions on financial statutes, the CDE Chart of Accounts and CDE specific financial policies and procedures.  One of my main functions at CSI is coordinating the CDE Data Pipeline submission for end of year financial data.  I also monitor other financial submissions including adopted/revised budgets, financial audits, the Assurances for Financial Accreditation and the transportation Reimbursement. Aislinn Walsh
Aislinn Walsh | Performance and Accountability Analyst

My name is Aislinn Walsh, and I am CSI’s Performance and Accountability Analyst. I began working for CSI in September 2016, after moving to Colorado from Connecticut. At CSI, I help analyze state and interim assessment data and create performance dashboards and research reports. In Connecticut, I worked as a data consultant for the Unified School District #2 and in the Department of Children and Families' Office of Performance Management. I received my Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Public Policy from the University of Connecticut.

Jessica Welch
Jessica Welch | Assessment and Improvement Planning Specialist

My name is Jessica Welch, and I am the Assessment and Improvement Planning Specialist. I joined CSI in January of 2017, after working for 6 years as a teacher and an administrator in charter schools in Aurora and Denver. In my current role, I support schools in the areas of assessment and accountability. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of New Mexico, and a Master’s degree in Mind, Brain, and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Mina Parthasarathy | Infinite Campus Support Coordinator
